Ants are a social insect that live in colonies. Ant control should not be done using a typical spray as it often only kill a handful of the worker ants. Treatment plans should be targeting the entire colony to achieve success usually by killing the Queen.

Ants may enter your house foraging for food or it may already be residing in your home. Having knowledge of ant behaviour helps in your battle against these pest. They enter through the smallest openings, foraging for water or food. They are in search of either sweet based food or protein/grease based foods. Once they find a food source, ants will leave a pheromone trail for other ants to follow.

Ants communicate by smell, and have several glands full of different chemicals they can choose from to send the right message. Once if ants are killed or disturbed, it quickly emits chemicals so that others could tell something was wrong, became aggressive, and respond. Ants also protect their colonies from pathogens by segregation. Some worker ants maintain the hygiene of the colony by identifying sickly ants and segregating them so that the Queen will not be affected. To achieve success in ant control, it is important to note that fast acting poison control only kill the handful of ants that you can see. Those handful of ants killed is small as compared to the entire population. A high performance Queen can produce 30,000 eggs in one day and quickly replace the dead worker ants.

A slow acting insecticide works best to achieve ant control. It will take a little more time but solve the root of the problem.

HOW DOES IT WORK
The Gel formulation makes eradication of roaches “POSSIBLE”! The bait contains 0.3% Fipronil and a highly palatable food-based attractant formula which is particularly attractive to roaches. Once the roaches feed on the gel bait, it crawls back to its’ harbourage area and die. The fast acting formulation eliminates the cockroach population in the harbourage area. That is the reason Emit Cockroach gel bait outperform others and makes control of cockroaches easy to achieve.

SPOT TREATMENT
To apply gel, remove cap from tip of applicator tube. Apply gel in 1cm diameter spots (1cm spot~0.6g), 15cm apart. Recommended dosage is (5g/m2). Numerous small application spots are preferable to a single large application pool. Cockroaches are more likely to consume small spots as it appears to be food crumbs that are dropped off. Do not apply cockroach gel in long bead-like caulk or large spots. To cockroaches, these large gel placements look like traps and cockroaches will more likely avoid them due to its cautious nature.
